Introducing Dr. Holly M. Barchman, B.Sc., D.C., D.I.C.C.P.

When Dr. Holly was eight years old, her parents knew the importance of spinal health in a growing child, and took her to a chiropractor for the first time. She was instantly enthralled by this natural form of healthcare, and shortly thereafter, she knew how she would devote her time and efforts to help others.

Dr. Holly Barchman received her Bachelor degree in Biology with emphasis on Human Nutrition from The University of Western Ontario. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic with a Doctorate in Chiropractic. Dr. Holly has completed three years of post-graduate study in prenatal and pediatric care and has obtained status of Diplomate In Clinical Chiropractic Paediatrics DICCP (USA).

Dr. Holly has devoted her career to the study of the best methods of care for pregnant women and children. In her professional practice, she has helped many women enjoy reduced pain during pregnancy, shorter labor time and fewer medical interventions through the birth process by maintaining proper function in the months leading up to the birth. Dr. Holly has attended births, to supply the labouring mom with chiropractic support for a healthier birth. Dr. Holly enjoys treating newborns as shortly after birth as possible so that the traumatic effects of birth can be minimized. Dr. Holly also enjoys the challenges of difficult symptomatic cases in the general population and excels in effective case management, whether caring for men or women, children or geriatrics.

In the spring of 2005, Dr. Holly traveled with her husband, Dr. Jeremy to Bolivia on a chiropractic mission trip to provide care for those who would not otherwise have the means for treatment.

Prior to working at Dynamic Balance Chiropractic, Dr. Holly worked at one of the largest chiropractic facilities in the United States as a family practice chiropractor, focusing primarily on maternal, prenatal, postnatal and pediatric health care. She brings this experience and the cutting-edge techniques used in her former practice to the community of Ajax and surrounding areas.

Dr. Holly is currently a member of the Durham Prenatal Coalition and the Durham Breastfeeding Coalition, so that she may actively play a role in promotion of pre and post-natal health and education.

When not teaching, and coaching patients, Dr. Holly enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She loves the outdoors, camping, running, hiking, yoga and taking their dog, Lilah for long walks.
